ABOUT THE CLUB
Thornton-le-Dale Squash Club is a long established club with the first court being built over 50 years ago. The club has two courts, one glass-backed and is located in the centre of Thornton-le-Dale with access through the car park of The Hall Residential Home.
The Club has around 50 members and exists for the important business of playing squash, keeping fit, making friends and enjoying good company. We are a Community Amateur Sports Club and encourage everyone in the to come along and get involved. No matter what your ability there is a place for you here. In addition to playing members we also need volunteers for our committee, helping shape the future of our local community club!
There are monthly mini-leagues played between club members which run from September to April, with two club competitions also being held throughout the season. During the summer months we hold a regular club night for members of all abilities. Coaching is also available if required. Pre-pandemic we offered junior coaching two nights a week, ladies coaching once a week in addition to team nights & social club nights.
Post pandemic we currently have three active teams in the club, two men’s teams and a ladies team. The men’s teams play in the York and District Squash League – www.yorksquash.co.uk. While the ladies team plays in the York and District Ladies Squash League – www.yorkladiesquash.co.uk.
Participation in leagues and competitions is optional, you are more than welcome to simply come and play squash for fun and fitness. If you have any questions or need further information feel free to email us at: [email protected] or drop us a message via this page. We will be back in touch with you as soon as possible.
